Since renovating there are less books. New technology rarely works properly. Not the same old library and that's not a good thing

Used to be good but not so much any more. All the good educational books have been requested out to other libraries where they stay until someone requests them back so slowly most of the books worth reading have been replaced by art, religion, self-help medical books, and other low-intelligent topics. Sure we can all request books from other libraries but you're no longer able to just walk in and browse for something worth reading. Most of the old helpful staff have been replaced by staff who project an attitude of distrust and suspicion of everyone. This is probably due to the short period where the library became just an online access centre full of noisy kids playing computer games. The second level used to be good for quiet study but now has elderly people learning computers which, as good as it is that they're trying to further their skills, tends to be painful background noise for people who know computers. Sue who used to work in the reference library was very helpful but most of the time now it's unstaffed. It just doesn't feel like a library anymore - it's just a free online access centre with immitation book decorations. If you want decent books or a place to study I recommend getting a public access card to the UTAS library. They might not have as many books but quality trumps quantity. Even travelling to the Wynyard library is worth it for a quiet place to study.
